ROADPOL "Truck & Bus" Safety Campaign (17–23 November)

From 17 to 23 November 2025, the European Roads Policing Network (ROADPOL) will carry out its next large-scale traffic safety campaign called “Truck & Bus.”

This international operation will take place across European Union countries, as well as in Norway, Switzerland, and Luxembourg, focusing primarily on trucks and buses.

The campaign aims to improve road safety across Europe by checking the technical condition of vehicles and ensuring that drivers and transport companies comply with all legal requirements.

🎯 The main goals of the campaign:

– Ensuring that trucks and buses meet technical and safety standards

– Checking the correct securing of loads

– Monitoring driving and rest times in line with European law

– Inspecting the functionality of tachographs

– Controlling the transport of dangerous goods

– Verifying drivers’ professional qualifications, licences, and sobriety

These inspections aim to reduce accidents, protect professional drivers, and improve the overall safety of all road users.

⚠️ The most common violations found during past ROADPOL checks include:

– Exceeding permitted speed limits

– Overworking and exceeding legal driving hours

– Incorrect tachograph use

– Missing vehicle documentation

– Failure to use seat belts or other safety devices in buses

Such coordinated actions remind transport companies and drivers that compliance with regulations saves lives and contributes to safer roads.
