Landslide at E6 Levanger

Important information for drivers

A landslide near E6 Nesvatnet in Levanger has forced major changes for road transport in the area. With E6 closed, traffic is now redirected through county road 755 (for vehicles up to 50 tons). Larger modular road trains have to take the longer detour via E14 in Sweden. Both detours cause significant delays for freight transport.

To make things a little easier for drivers and companies, The Norwegian Public Roads Administration has introduced temporary changes:

– Up to 10 hours driving per day (instead of 9).
– Up to 60 hours per week (instead of 56).
– A maximum of 100 hours over two weeks (instead of 90).
– Drivers can now take five reduced daily rests between weekly rests (instead of three).

These exceptions remain valid until E6 reopens.

Since some traffic must go through Sweden, Swedish Customs allowed commercial transport to use the route via E14 Storlien – county roads 322/72 – Verdal.
But there are some important conditions:

– Valid between September 3 and October 1, 2025.
– You must follow the approved route without detours.
– No loading, unloading, or rest breaks in Sweden.
– Restricted goods are not allowed.

These temporary rules aim to keep goods moving. If you’re planning routes in the region, make sure your drivers know the adjusted limits and border rules to avoid delays.
