Employees who transport goods by road with vehicles with a total weight of more than 3.5 tonnes must have at least a salary of NOK 207.00 per hour (until 15 June applicable rate was NOK 196, 50).

This generalization makes it illegal for companies or employers to pay drivers below the standardized wage level, and it also applies to companies without a collective agreement.

For goods transport by road with vehicles weighing less than 3.5 tonnes, the general provision does not apply.

The aim of generalization is to ensure that foreign workers receive similar pay and working conditions to Norwegian workers when they work in Norway, as well as to prevent competition distortion resulting from competing with foreign labor with lower wage costs.
